What makes PunchyTime different from other time tracking applications? We're not bloated with features that you'll never use, and that make time tracking a pain. We're not an invoicing tool, we're not an accounting application, we don't do your taxes, we're not a file repository, and we can't manage your projects. PunchyTime was created for creative agencies with multiple team members who need to track their time on projects. Ideally, you already have an accounting, invoicing, and project management system in place for your company. Now all you need is a friggin' time tracker that those darn creatives will actually use. PunchyTime is that missing link, and is extremely affordable (as low as $1 per seat per month).


PunchyTime Features & Benefits

Browser based service
It's browser-based, so there's no software to install, and no servers to setup. Team members can enter time from home, from the coffee shop, or wherever they get their work done. And yes, it actually works on Mac or PC, and all the major browsers, like IE, Firefox, and Safari.

Enter time as you work
Since it's so easy and fast to use, your team can bookmark PunchyTime and enter their billable time as they're working. That means no more procrastinating all month to enter time into some ginormous, clunky spreadsheet (that's how stuff gets lost and forgotten, and how money slips through the cracks). Plus, when workers enter time "on the fly," managers get better, real time data about how projects are doing.

Infinitely many projects

Company "Lifeline" Reports
Owners and Managers get access to instant, real time reports that give a "bird's eye view" of how your company's doing:

  • Who your best and worst customers are
  • Which services bring you the most money
  • Which project deadlines are approaching
  • Which projects are going over budget, so you can warn your clients ahead of time
  • Who's slacking off at work. Set "minimum hours per day" values for each employee, and we'll provide visual alerts when employees dip below that number.
  • Average billable hours logged per day (for the company, and each worker)
  • Know at a glance how much money you've got waiting to be invoiced
  • Dashboard shows you how many projects are "live" and what they're all worth. Sort by client, due date, or budget.

The Dashboard
As soon as you log in to PunchyTime, our Dashboard shows you in realtime:

  • Who your best customer is
  • All your "live" projects (sort projects by client, due date, or value)
  • Which projects are falling behind
  • How much money your company averages per day
  • How many billable hours your company averages per day
  • How many projects are ready for invoicing

Employees get useful stats too!
As workers enter their time, they get useful stats about each project:

  • Due date is approaching (you can set the warning threshold)
  • Budget limit approaching (you can set the warning threshold)
  • Total hours they've logged for each project (sometimes, you're just curious)
  • Percent of budget reached (so they know if they should contact someone)

Kooky "Thank You" Messages
Our favorite feature. Whenever someone enters their time, they get a random "thank you" screen. Your team members can create their own, customized thank you messages by uploading kooky photos and entering their own copy. Makes time tracking a little more bearable for everyone. [Screenshot]

Custom Service Types and Rates
You can enter all the service types and rates you want (Design, HTML, Copywriting, Programming, etc). Or simply enter fixed rates by person

Project Reports for invoicing
When a project is finished, PunchyTime generates reports that you can enter into your accounting software for invoicing. Or, you can download reports in Microsoft Excel, and hand them off to Accounts Receivables.

Internal Notes
Along with task, time spent, and service type, workers can enter "internal" notes for each task. So when it's time to write invoices, you'll know that a particular task "took so friggin' long because the client didn't have a vector file for their logo, so I had to retrace the #@$% thing!"

Printable Project Time Sheets for Clients
Print time sheets and send them to clients along with your invoice (don't worry, we'll hide all the nasty internal notes your employees entered).

Search Closed Projects
PunchyTime stores all your old projects for later reference (you know, for when that one annoying client calls you up and asks about an invoice you sent 8 months ago).

Safe & Secure
Trust us, we don't store all your data on some cheap PC in our coat closet (that's our game server). We use a well-known, globally recognized data center with a 100% network uptime SLA, offsite backups, and redundant power sources. They've even got those cool hand-scanner security thingies on their doors (the kind you see on TV). All credit card orders are placed over 128-bit secure connections, your passwords are encrypted, and nobody touches your database without your permission.
